The 1st Mumbai International Beer Festival, to be held on 15 and 16 October, will celebrate iconic beers from across the globe. “Visitors will enjoy tastings of great imported and domestic beers, most of them not easily available at retail outlets or even restaurants,” says B. Shankaranarayan of Monsoon Winds, presenters of the Festival along with the Pune Gourmet Club & supported by Traveltechie.com. “In India everyone talks about the 330 ml stubbie as a pint whereas it’s 473 ml in the US and 570 ml in the UK. At the festival we will serve up a real pint of beer. We will also offer fresh beer on tap.” This will be the first ever event of this type in India, he adds.Visitors will get tastings of exclusive beers not easily available in the market. Ale, stout, porter, lager, pilsner, blonde, dark, wheat, pale - you name it they'll have it. Plus there will be fresh beer on tap! Another first will be a 5 litre keg on the table!

Among the beers on offer are Amstel, Brooklyn, Chimay, Duvel, Fuller’s London Pride, Liefman's, Moinette, Murphy's, Sagres, Saison Dupont, Schneider Weisse, and Tsingtao. Tasting sessions, brew education sessions, and beer quizzes will be held on both days of the Festival, and visitors will also be treated to other value added surprises.

Live music will add to the festival atmosphere and a range of great food including stone baked pizzas, burgers, hot dogs and pastas will be available. “The idea is to offer visitors the chance to enjoy their favourite brews at great prices in a chilled out ambience, and discover previously un-tasted varieties of beer,” says Shankaranarayan.

Beer experts will hold forth on the fine art of craft brewing.  Vikram Achanta of Tulleeho will conduct beer quiz on both days.

The food court will have live counters by Mocha, Ray's Pizza, Cafe Arabia and Red Ninja Express serving beer friendly food.
