The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) on Wednesday unveiled the world's cheapest computer Tablet Akash with an affordable priced atRs2,250 which came just after a week of Amazon created ‘Kindle Fire' for $ 199 (Rs9,785). The Apple iPad costs aboutRs32,000 in India.
Students will get maximum benefit of Tablet Akash as the first one lakh units procured by the government will be given to students for free and could be purchased by undergraduate / postgraduate students at cheaper price of roughlyRs800 toRs1,000.

A commercial version of the device is also expected to hit the market in November with a retail tag of Rs 2,999.
